In the beginning...
In 2008 William Hart had been the men's soccer head coach for several years. That year, he noticed the upsetting lack of a women's soccer team, despite a large interest in the sport. The East Surry Women's soccer team's debut season was the spring of 2009. They had 22 girls play, 15 of which had never before played soccer. The program grew with every season and success followed. The team won the 2014 Northwest 1-A Conference championship behind a group of determined young ladies. The team's most successful season in terms of advancement in the NCHSAA Playoffs was 2016 where they played in the Western Regional Semi-finals. Moving forward, the team looks to be on an upward trend with many talented girls coming up from the middle school and experienced upperclassmen ready for a new season.
